ULHC Members attended First Annual AliExpress Wreck-A-Watch Luncheon, where individually wrapped watches fueled a lively White Elephant exchange full of steals, swaps, and surprises. At the end, many stepped up to an anvil to deliver the ultimate verdict with a mini sledgehammer.

Journe with a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to independent watchmaking and innovation. Members enjoyed a memorable night among collectors, craftsmen, and industry leaders in one of the city’s most iconic venues.

Members gathered to hear from our special guest speaker, Roland G. Murphy, founder and master watchmaker of RGM Watches, widely regarded as one of America’s leading independent watchmakers. His work has been recognized internationally for its technical excellence, traditional hand finishing, and steadfast commitment to American manufacturing. Mr. Murphy presented an engaging talk on the history of American watchmaking, exploring its legacy of innovation, precision, and independence from the 19th century to today.

Jack has spent over two decades immersed in every aspect of watches, clocks, and watchmaking. His career has included leadership roles at Revolution Magazine and HODINKEE, where he served as Editor-in-Chief, and today he is the Global Editorial Director at WatchBox. His work has appeared in American Express Departures, and Vanity Fair, and he is the author of Cartier Time Art: Mechanics of Passion.
